Four courses could be chosen: Fuji, Test, Suzuka and Seaside. The player raced with an Indy car, using a steering wheel, and a gaspedal, and accompanied by nonstop stereo racing noises. To continue racing the course had to be finishe before time ran out.
Pole Position used a changing landscape as a background, and had advertising bill-boards cars could crash into.
